Topic: We'll be reading through and then discussing a simplified version of the Greek myth "Orpheus and Euridice" (Orfeo e Euridice in Italiano). You can access the text here before the class begins: Beginner Book Club - Orfeo e Euridice
Prerequisites: You must have completed at least one of our Beginner Italian series OR you are comfortable reading and speaking in present tense in mostly Italian. Speaking slowly or needing help with words or phrases is totally fine. Our instructors are happy to provide help with words or phrases during this session, but we will speak in mostly Italian after our initial translation of the text. Topic: Learn how to start conversations with others and interact with staff at hotels and restaurants for your next trip to Italy!
Prerequisites: None! This is open to all skill levels, from brand new speakers to those looking to brush up on their Italian before their next trip.

Topic: Speak like an Italian - and yes, that does involve speaking with your hands! Come learn the common hand gestures Italians use and pick up on some common slang words. This class may involve some vulgarity in its slang, so please be aware or inform us of any sensitivities you may have before class. Prerequisites: None! This class is for anyone from beginners to advanced students who would like to sound more like a native speaker.

Topic: Get around Italy with ease! Learn the common phrases you'll need to navigate different modes of transportation while in Italy.

Topic: We'll be reading through a news article (exact article TBD), and discussing the implications, whether or not we agree with the point of view, etc. in Italian.
Prerequisites: This is for more intermediate speakers. You should be fairly comfortable speaking solely in Italian and have a decent grasp of past and present tenses. We're here to learn, so instructors are happy to provide help with word definitions or supply phrases, but the majority of our conversation will be held in Italian.

Topic: Italian is the language of love, why not learn how to speak to your paramour in Italian? We'll cover how to flirt and terms of endearment.

Rachael Gwinn has had a love for both Italian and teaching since college.She graduated with majors in Linguistics and Italian, including a year of immersion at the Università di Padova. During graduate school she worked as a freelance translator, and began teaching Italian classes in 2019. Her teaching style focuses on the grammatical building blocks of the language, with an emphasis on why different constructions occur, when they're similar to English, and when they differ. When not teaching Italian or attending Italian club, Rachael spends her working hours as a Machine Learning Engineer and during her off hours she enjoys climbing, snowboarding, or knitting.
Zanny Merullo Steffgen grew up in an Italian-American family in western Massachusetts and started learning Italian as a kid when she spent time in Italy. She attended some high school in Rimini and volunteered in Napoli as a young adult, and travels to the bel paese when she can.
